Andrew Sidelinger – Black Belt Instructor

Andrew is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and head coach of the academy. Andrew first started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA in Missoula, MT in 2011. Shortly after he moved to Eugene, OR where he trained under Professor Ben Baxter, from whom he received his black belt in 2019. Andrew also attended University of Oregon majoring in Geology. Since then, he has continued training jiu jitsu under the guidance of professor Fabiano Scherner, head coach of American Top Team – Portland. He has competed in major IBJJF tournaments such as the Pan American Championship and Masters Worlds as well as other grappling tournaments and shows such as Submission Underground.

In addition to teaching at Molalla River Jiu Jitsu, Andrew is a volunteer firefighter for Clackamas Fire.


Roma Sidelinger – Brown Belt Instructor

Roma is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt and former professional MMA fighter. She started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA in Missoula, MT in 2011. After moving to Eugene she continued her MMA career while attending Law School at the University of Oregon. Roma earned a jiu jitsu brown belt under Ben Baxter in 2017. She fought professionally and medaled in many IBJJF and local jiu jitsu tournaments.

Roma homeschools their three young sons and works as a personal trainer. In addition to coaching the women and kids at the jiu jitsu academy, she is the founder of Wild and Barefoot Nature Group (a local homeschool coop).
